new joining during pregnancy and maternity leave rules

hi, i m n occupational therapist n got my call letter for joining mental hosp last week. presently i m six months pregnant i have some queries:
m i medically fit for joining my job which is for 2 yrs prbation period?
can i avail benefits of maternity leaves?

Government organizations usually check for pregnancy cases and postpone joining date accordingly.

Talk to the Admin officer. Most likely you'll need to give them letter in writing about your job acceptance and allow you to join after your delivery.

By the way which govt organization are you going to join? State or Central?
